A truly one of a kind global food tour that offers Food Innovation Program students the opportunity to seek and understand the motivations, drivers, and impacts of food innovation across the globe and align their minds in seizing new opportunities in responding to challenges and shaping the future of food.

Silicon Valley in San Francisco, USA /// INNOVATION

Silicon Valley is not just the leading hub and start-ups ecosystem for high-tech innovation, development and disruptive innovation but is also located in California’s agricultural powerhouses embedded in dynamic food cultures. Students will be immersed in the exciting food culture, connect with food start-ups, explore food tech, big data and visit champions of the tech world, such as Google and Airbnb. A focus will be on leadership development for an immersive experience designed to help students, using positive psychology as a leadership tool— to empower them to unleash their full potential, learn the innovation process and understand the framework of character strengths and how to apply them in their professional and personal life.

Shanghai, CHINA /// BUSINESS

The world’s most populated city and a global financial capital, Shanghai is also home to Asia’s largest food exhibition and epicenter of Chinese food culture and industry. Thanks to the vast global partnership with business schools around the globe, such as Tongji University in Shanghai, China, students will delve into the themes of business and entrepreneurship and explore and develop, through different perspectives and transversal approaches, the entrepreneurial mindset with the assistance of a high-caliber of international faculty members with decades of teaching and real-world experiences.

Reggio Emilia, ITALY /// CREATIVITY

Located in the heart of the Italian Food Valley, Reggio Emilia is one of Italy’s most dynamic tech-savvy areas with a rich history in world renowned culinary excellence and food production. It is also the home of Reggio Children – Loris Malaguzzi Centre Foundation and birthplace of the Reggio Approach methodology that acknowledges that the most spontaneous and integral expression of thought is interpreted through a multitude of languages and tools. From the synergy of motor, cognitive and affective language emerges creative aptitude, which is fundamental in any activity aimed at generating innovation. Multipurpose and skills such as Expressive Photography; Narrative Image; Creative Computing help generate and cultivate creative strengths through various channels.
