The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia started its journey towards Expo 2015 early this year with the establishment of an ExpoMORE committee composed of academic representatives in various departments who will provide an active participation in next year’s 2015 Expo in Milan: Feeding the Planet Energy for Life.
Through ExpoMORE, UNIMORE has began carrying out vast international promotional campaigns throughout the region showcasing excellence through the support and impetus by university research, the engine of innovation.
In this regard, the University, along with ExpoMORE, initiated a survey of projects, research and dissemination, relating to the themes of EXPO 2015, and collecting 51 exciting proposals. At the request of the Region of Emilia-Romagna, the initiatives in the World Food Program Regional Forum (WFF) and shared with the committees, promoted by the municipalities of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
Specifically, the 2015 EXPO addresses the universal theme of nutrition from an environmental point of view as well as historical, cultural, anthropological, medical, technical, scientific and economic. This multidisciplinary approach creates interesting intersections and correlations, creating several sub-themes related to technical and scientific aspects, and socio-cultural cooperation and development.
