When I started talking to Carolina Blázquez in March about making ECOALF partner of the Food Innovation Global Mission we saw the clear synergy and connection between our missions. The evident connection between our missions is much deeper than what it seems at first sight. We don’t only work to make the world a more sustainable place, but the way in which we do it, is strictly linked: the materials Ecoalf uses come mainly from activities related to the food system, such as fishing nets and water bottles. This brand has become one of the partners of the 2018 Global Mission, and our international delegation who comes from all around the world (South Africa, USA, India, Belgium, Italy, Hungary, Colombia, Jordan and Spain), wears proudly the t-shirts with the Because there is no Planet B slogan and backpacks made from recycled plastics, bringing the mission of this brave brand outside the Spanish borders.

Last week, we were invited to intervene at their weekly ACT NOW event in their shop in Madrid and the one in Berlin, to talk about the Food Innovation Program and our mission to map out the best practices, technologies and heroes that are contributing and inspire others to make better decisions. We work in an industry that is one of the most polluting and water-dependent. One-third of the food produced is wasted and has a huge environmental impact and we eat indirectly the garbage we produce and burry into the fields and oceans. Joining efforts with mission-driven organizations such as ECOALF we are closer to a cleaner and healthier future.
