The Food Innovation Program’s educational model embraces creative learning and design thinking to innovate in the fields of food and technology. The program is divided into three distinct modules: Inspiration, Aspiration and Perspiration. ‘Inspiration’ brought students from diverse backgrounds together. ‘Aspiration’ taught them how to resolve uncertainty in innovation by using project management techniques and having defined briefs, and ‘Perspiration’ brought students together in teams of 4-5 to resolve challenges set by our partner companies – Barilla, Alce Nero and CAAB (F.I.CO).

CHALLENGE BRIEFS:

Barilla Kids: Create a healthy children’s snack (with minimal salt, sugars and fats) to improve children’s eating and taste experience.

Barilla Pasta: Design a new and sustainable product range based on pasta that can fulfil society needs, meet market requirements for convenience and value, and enable pasta to regain and strengthen its position as a food staple for Italy.

Alce Nero: Launch a communications campaign that brings Alce Nero to new consumers.

CAAB: Produce a self-sustainable program/project focused on educational and edutainment criteria that will cultivate the knowledge generated at Expo Milano 2015

The students will present their high resolution prototypes and findings that were collected over the past six months to fellow classmates, professors, friends, family and our partners. First there will be pitches and presentations, followed by networking, an aperitivo and closing remarks.
